“RIDDIM DOCTORS”,featuring Nigerian talking drum wizard Sikiru Adepoju, recently released their Digital  Album:- “OPE”  {“Gratitude”},showcasing a new style of World Music.

  It is the mixing of authentic Afrikan Drums and Percussion, with those of Latin America, the Caribbean and   India primarily. 

The album, which reflects a labor of love, filled with spiritual music for meditation and dancing, takes the listener on a musical journey to exotic cultures of Afrika and beyond.

Lead artist, *Sikiru has had an expansive career;from:  a Grammy-Award winning. Founding member of  Mickey Hart’s  “Planet Drum”, to a key member of the late Babatunde Olatunji’s  “Drums of Passion”.

He has traveled extensively throughout Europe, America & Japan, and has been a featured artist on diverse percussion recordings. 

    The other musicians of the mysterious pot of “Riddim Doctors”, include:-

*Val  Serrant….who plays the SteelPan(SteelDrum)  of  his  native  Trinidad And  Tobago;  as well as Kalimba &  Assorted  Percussion.

He has  been  teaching  his craft  to  children  and  adults  at  home  and  abroad. 

 *Saminu  Adepoju  a Nigerian  Master  Drummer  with  a  unique  drumming  style,  took  over  his  brother’s  position  in  “Chief  Commander  Ebenezer  Obey  and  The  Inter  Reformers  Band”,  when  Sikiru  decided  not to travel  with them on their 1985 American Tour.

 *Ian “Inx”  Herman the master  drummer, who started  playing  drums in  church  as a 14 year-old….is  a  native of  South  Africa.

 He has performed and recorded with several well-known artists such as: Hugh Masekela, Vusi  Mahlasela, Ernest Rangllin, Duran  Duran,  African Showboyz, Abdullah Ibrahim, Paul Simon, Habib  Koite, Rene  McLean, Miriam Makeba, Noise Khanyile, Mickey Hart, Kalahari Surfers, Soweto String Quartet, Deepak Ram.  

*Femi  Ojetunde, also known as “Femdouble”, is a Nigerian-born Music Producer, Songwriter, Musician and Entrepreneur.

Femi has worked with some of the greatest artists, including: Quincy Jones 111, 2 Pac, E-40, Krayzie Bone, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopez, Cee-Lo Green, Ginuwine, Tech  N9ne, & Tq.  

*Peter Fujii…Guitarist….is a Japanese- American, born in Detroit, Michigan….who grew up in the San-Francisco Bay-Area, where he learned a wide range of musical styles. Basically self- taught, Peter picked up the guitar late in High school. Early influences include: B.B.King, Jimi Hendrix, Wes Montgomery, and  Sly Stone. 

*Richard  “Shakin” Nagan is a guitarist, percussionist and singer. Since 1996 he has played guitar and sang with his trio. “Who Knows?”, which features free jazz icons Perry Robinson on Clarinet,Pan Flute &  Ocarina;plus Mark Whitecage on Alto Sax and Wooden Flute.
